Monday - Saturday: 9.30am - 4.30pm
Sunday: Noon - 3pm

Changes to Visitor Opening Hours

Occasionally we need to close to visitors for a private service, event, filming or maintenance; or restrict access to certain parts of the Cathedral. We are aware people travel long distances to visit so we try to minimise periods of closure. Please check this page for any last minute changes prior to your visit as some events have to be arranged at short notice.

June

10am – 4pm: Organ tuning. Please note this involves loud and repetitive noise.

Thursday 19 June
10am – 11am: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to a children’s service.
1pm – 2pm: No visitor access to the Presbytery due to a lunchtime concert. All visitors are welcome to attend the concert.

Friday 20 June
1pm – 4pm: The Octagon area will be busier than usual with rehearsals for The Wonder of It All. Some visitor access and views may be limited.

Saturday 21 June
10am – 12 noon: The Lady Chapel will be busier than usual with rehearsals for Ely Consort – Sing A New Song.
1.15pm – 3pm: No visitor access to the East End and Presbytery due to a wedding.

Monday 23 June
11.15am – 1pm: No visitor access to the East End and Presbytery due to a funeral.

Wednesday 25 June
9.30am – 12.30pm: The Octagon area will be busier than usual with rehearsals for a service.

Thursday 26 June
10am – 11am: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to a children’s service.
1pm – 2pm: No visitor access to the Presbytery due to a lunchtime concert. All visitors are welcome to attend the concert.

Saturday 28 June
Visitor access is 9.30am – 3pm (last entry 2pm) due to an ordination service at 4pm.
11.45am – 1.30pm: No visitor access to the East End and Presbytery due to a wedding.
The Stained Glass Museum is open till 5pm (last entry 4.30pm). The Cathedral shop is open 10am - 3.30pm

Tuesday 1 July
Open to visitors 9.30am – 1.15pm (last entry 12.15pm) due to a school service.
9.30am – 11am: The Octagon area will be busier than usual with rehearsals for a school service.
The Stained Glass Museum is open until 5pm (last entry 4.30pm)

Wednesday 2 July
9.30am – 11am: The Octagon area will be busier than usual with rehearsals for a school service.
12.15pm – 2pm: No visitor access to the East End and Presbytery due to a wedding.

Thursday 3 July
No visitor access today due to school service.
The Stained Glass Museum is open 10am – 5pm (last entry 4.30pm).

Entry is with a Home and Garden Show ticket only. Please note the Cathedral will be much busier than usual and no visitor tickets or tours are available.
