Environment Action

To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth (The fifth mark of Mission)

Ely Cathedral places creation care at the heart of everything we do and we are committed to walking in step with nature and taking action on climate change.

The Cathedral is part of the A Rocha Eco Church Award Scheme and was awarded the prestigious Gold Award in August 2024.

Our Environment Group RENEW, the congregation, clergy, staff and wider community are determined to build on our work as a Gold Eco Church, alongside meeting the Church of England’s target to become carbon ‘net zero’ by 2030.
